I knit continental, so that is what I teach. That means I hold the yarn in my left hand and "pick" the yarn rather than holding yarn in my right hand and "throwing". I can demonstrate "throwing" the yarn English style, but when I am knitting, it will be continental.
Masks are required for in-person meetings.
SHAWL - Learn reading a pattern, using a chart, backwards cast on, simple lace, i-cord bind off, and weaving ends. We will go over blocking but that is a different class. During this first class you will make a shawl. Class includes 2 actual lesson meetings: one to start and one to finish the item. You can choose between the Most Basic Center Panel Shawl or the Most Basic Edged Shawl. To begin, we will be using the Power Up chart as it is simple to follow.
First class takes place Saturday February 12th @11AM. In this class we will go over reading the chart, backwards cast on and simple lace. This lesson will be about 1-2 hours but feel free to hang in the shop after if you would like more help.
Second class takes place Saturday February 26th @11AM. In this class you will learn i-cord bind off and weaving in ends. This class will last about 30 minutes, but feel free to hang in the shop after for more help. We will also go over the basics of blocking but will not be blocking today. There will be another class specifically on blocking available.
Materials include: 1 skein of Rebel Purl yarn on 4 Plies of the Apocalypse, Interchangeable needles & connector cable, a stitch marker and both shawl patterns printed as well as on Ravelry & through the online shop. If you are unable to afford the cost of the class, please come by the shop to signup for the scholarship options.
Class payment is due upon signup so that materials can be ordered. If you need to cancel, I can offer you the materials to keep or re-schedule you for another class at a later date.
