Learn the basics of knitting! Or get help with your beginner knitter process.
I knit continental, so that is what I teach. That means I hold the yarn in my left hand and "pick" the yarn rather than holding yarn in my right hand and "throwing". I can demonstrate "throwing" the yarn English style, but when I am knitting, it will be continental.
Masks are required for in-person meetings.
Learning to knit can be hard sometimes. We are now offering a scheduled block of time for beginner knitters to come in for a little help or clarity. This listing is for private help and undivided attention. As such, these will either be scheduled before the shop opens, or early in the day with someone there to watch the store.
OPTION 1 / ASSIST - This can include anything from casting on, binding off, reading a pattern, how to purl, checking gauge, how to hold the yarn or needles, or whatever you need help with to get started knitting. For a little help getting started, choose the ASSIST option. Each assist appointment will be a 20 minute block of one-on-one time for help. You are welcome to stay after your time to craft in the shop and get some more help, but you are only guaranteed your 20 minutes of time without interruption.
OPTION 2 - WASHCLOTH - If you need to learn it ALL, if you've never held a knitting needle or if you haven't for too long to remember, please choose the a WASHCLOTH option. This will include the materials/tools needed to make a washcloth and 2 Saturdays of assistance. This option will get you 1 hour of undivided attention learning on your first Saturday, a skein of cotton yarn (please choose your color when you sign-up so we can have it ready), needles to knit with and one stitch marker. Then you will have an additional 30 minutes available to you the following Assistance Saturday.
This listing is for Saturday October 14th from 10-11AM.
If no one signs up for a spot by closing the Wednesday before the upcoming scheduled time, that time will be cancelled. So grab your spot when you're ready. To start we will segment Assistance Saturdays into 3 spots, 20 minutes each. Unless someone needs the Washcloth option, then that Saturday will be just for the washcloth human and we will go back to regularly scheduled segments the following month.
As always, you can drop by the shop anytime we are open for general questions and help, no charge. This is just to have a scheduled option for beginner knitter help/teaching with undivided attention.
