Rebel Purl started as locally hand dyed yarn sold online. Now we have an awesome little shop in Bloomington, Indiana that we try to fill with other small local crafters. Hand painted boxes, one of a kind shawl pins, local area dyed yarns, felted soaps, woven items..... Any local fiber related crafter can reach out about carrying their items or local artists can schedule a trunk show in the shop.

    In order to have a wide selection of tools in our little shop, we carry primarily KnitPicks brand tools, needles and hooks. You will also find other items such as Eucalan wool soap, The Knitting Barber cords, and various other well known and good quality items for fiber crafting.

  • Classes

    Many classes are taught by Mary, the owner and Rebel Purl dyer or staff at the shop. But we also offer classes from other local area teachers and some travelling teachers. Watch the schedule for the class you want or request a class on something you'd like to try out. We offer a Learn to Knit class once per quarter for just the cost of supplies. And we have scholarship options available.

  • Cascade

    In order to offer some affordable options and bases not supplied by local dyers, we also carry Cascade Yarns. Current offerings include Nifty (worsted cotton), 220 Highland Wool (worsted), 220 Superwash (worsted), Hampton (DK cotton linen bland), and Cherub Bulky.

    Special orders are available on any Cascade yarn. A color carried can be added to our next order for the shop. A color or base not carried (or needed urgently) can be special ordered but will include shipping costs set by our supplier.

  • Patterns

    We carry a small selection of fiber craft books with patterns and information. All Rebel Purl patterns are available in store as a printout. If you purchase the printout we can send you the digital pattern free as well. Select Ravelry patterns are also available through the store. Ravelry pattern purchased through us can include a pattern print out when requested. If there is a book or pattern you would like to see in the shop, let us know!
