Jazz up your self-striped knits by learning to use stitches that coordinate with the yarn's stripe widths and color changes.
This class will introduce an array of techniques for working with self-striping yarn including slipped stitch patterns, lace, cables, and texture. Play with different stitches and design your own pattern to use on socks, mitts, hats, sweater sleeves, and more. Students will come away from the class having started a sampler "tube" that could become a wrist warmer, coffee sleeve, or the leg of a sock.
Attendees must be confident working on knitting/purling in the round and doing stitches like yarn-overs, increases, decreases, and cables. Attendees must also bring their own self-striping yarn and appropriate needles, or they can be purchased at the shop.
Class is BYO supplies, but the shop stocks AH / Brenda & Heather self striping yarns if needed to help you get started.
Class will last about 1.5-2 hours followed by crafternoon so we can help each other get the hang of it if you want to stay.

Care information
To retain bright colors, do not store in direct sunlight. Items crafted from this yarn should be handwashed (or machine washed in delicate /handwash cycle) and then either laid flat or hung to dry.
Colors should be bright and permanent, but if you find any of the dye running from your fabric or yarn, soak in hot water with a bit of acid citric acid or vinegar) then rinse well. Do not dry in a machine.
